After my last crochet project, I decided I wanted to do something quick and easy. So, last night I got out the same charcoal gray yarn that I used for the tri-color throw and a new mustard yellow acrylic yarn that I found on sale recently. I liked the variegated look from the throw and decided to do something similar for my quick project.
I always try to make practical (and decorative, of course) projects. So, I chose to make a set of 4 square coasters. This time I only used two strands (one for each color) instead of three.
I’m not so sure that I should have made these variegated in the end. I think I would have liked a solid one-color square and then a thick border all the way around in the other color, but they work. Maybe I’ll do another set soon with the solid square idea.
Do you like to work with multiple colors of yarn to create a variegated look or do you usually stick to just one color at a time?
