The fastest sofa shopping experience ever

Living room layout

Yesterday we went to find a new sofa before we make our big move, and it was the fastest sofa shopping experience ever. We had no intentions to buy yesterday. In fact, our plan was to go, have a look around and decide on shape, type (reclining sides or not), color and texture. We were going to wait until 4th of July weekend to see if we could snag some great sales, but turns out, we didn’t need to wait!

We walked into a local furniture store with some super chic living room furniture, and we were pleasantly met by the salesperson who was not pushy or jumping to show us every piece of furniture. We walked around a bit and we fell in love with the second sofa we sat on. It was that easy. We definitely did a lap around the first and second floors for good measure, but we kept coming back to the great price, comfort and look of this one in the picture. As I told my friends, we quickly found some cush for our tush. 😉

The sofa will be delivered mid to late July, which gives us enough time to get rid of our current one. Yesterday evening I put together some different pieces on Polyvore that I love, mixing and matching and came up with the above layout. I love the round coffee table with the carved wood detail and the beautiful leek rug. We already have the lunar swivel recliner, ivory genie lamp and natural ribbed lumbar pillow with buttons, but I’d love to add the other accent chair, a cute garden stool like the one next to the sofa and a variety of colorful pillows into the mix as well.

I may still tweak this a bit, but I’d love to see these major pieces tied together like this in our new living room. We spend most of our time together in this room, so it’s important to me that it be stylish and comfortable.

Do you have a favorite accessory or piece in your living room? Do you usually match most pieces or do you mix it up?
