New digs

27 Jul

So, it’s old news that we’ve been packing and getting ready to move. However, in all the chaos that goes on with moving, I wanted to update our family and friends with our new address. Instead of sending a generic email or Facebook message, I thought I’d send something fun…you know, something that would be a nice note in the mix of receiving regular day-to-day bills and junk mail.

I searched some of the local paper shops and stationery stores, but these aren’t the easiest types of things to find, unless you want to custom order them and prices can be pretty steep. So, I decided to pay another visit to my friend Etsy. She never lets me down 😉

I found these awesome change of address postcards from Jack & Ella Paper Press to send out, and I love them! I have almost all of them filled out, but I had to round up some addresses from friends who have moved or whose address I didn’t have at all. That part didn’t take long, and I addressed a few each night for about a week between packing boxes and purging/donating stuff we no longer need. I also found some fun postcard stamps at the post office. Don’t they look nice against the recycled paper?

IMG_0672I can’t wait to send them out this week. I think they’re a nice thing to tuck away until the person has the time to update his/her address book. Do people still use those? I do, but I wonder if anyone else does.

Here are some of the other change of address postcards that I considered from the shop (in order of my favorites after the new digs postcards I purchased).

new nest postcards

official change of address notice we've moved postcardsI really like the fonts and look of the hand-drawn images on each set. I’ve ordered from Jessica before and she’s really wonderful to work with when it comes to changing any text to customize the stationery you buy. She also delivers everything very quickly and each set comes wrapped in a beautiful piece of string or twine (pretty much what you see in the images in her shop). She’s kind enough to also include a freebie in there. I just can’t say enough good things about Jessica and her shop. If you’ll be moving any time soon, I highly recommend her shop. And if you’re not, there are plenty of other beautiful note and greeting cards in there for you!

{This is not a sponsored post. I just really love Etsy and Jack & Ella Paper Press.}
