Moments of gratitude

25 Jan

Time to look back at 2013… yes, it’s late January, but we’re doing so now because we’ve been traveling a lot lately. More on that later! We began a new-to-us tradition last year of writing down the moments for which we’re most thankful throughout the year. Then, at the end of the year, we planned to look back at all the wonderful things that happened during the past year. Well, we’re getting around to it now!

Remember when I spray-painted this jar lid? Well, the jar is now full from 2013. It was overall a very good year for us, and we’re already seeing wonderful things for 2014! Keeping a memory of all the good things that have happened really allows us to be grateful for all that we have, as well as to appreciate the moments (both big and small) that happen every week.

Here are a few of the moments from 2013 for which we’re most thankful:

  • Spending time with family and friends;
  • Lots of travel πŸ™‚ ;
  • My husband earned his PhD;
  • My business finally earned a national woman-owned certification;
  • New adventures!

What are your most thankful moments from 2013? Do you have a gratitude jar/box/etc. to remember these moments from the past year?

      Yes! I’ve decided to keep each year in an envelope, marked for that year. I think it will be a nice thing to keep and to pass on (if anyone ever wants them πŸ˜‰ ).

    Several years ago I had a gratitude journal and your post reminded me how much I enjoyed looking back over a year of joy. Perhaps I’ll start one again soon ~ one can never be too grateful :). Very happy 2013 was a good year for you!!!

      That is a great idea, too! I might have to try that. Thank you πŸ˜€
