Photography is a hobby I used to love, but like many hobbies that people have, I walked away from it for a while because life got busy. Well, when is life not busy? I’ve picked up this hobby again, and I am so happy I did. I have so much fun with my camera, capturing everyday moments and looking past the ordinary to the extraordinary details that we can so easily miss during our busy days. I hope to share a look past the ordinary here with you.
I currently own a Nikon D7100, which I absolutely love! You can read about my experience purchasing this camera here. My favorite genres are street photography, lifestyle photography and food photography. I respect people who love to shoot portraits, but right now, it’s not for me. I like to capture those moments that no one’s expecting. After all, nothing is ordinary.
And just to share–this is one of my all time favorite photos that I’ve taken. It’s a photo I took in Brazil of my husband’s grandmother while they were picking blackberries at his family’s small farm. I love the look of her hardworking hands with the stains of the berries and the glimpse of her cane framing the bottom of the photo. This is one I’ll truly cherish always.
